Stats:	Adult Size: 4 1/2 " (11 cm) Temp: 73-82 F (23-28 C) Tank: 24" (60 cm) minimum
Requirements:	Bettas love floating plants and dim lighting. They also need access to open air above water, as they are atmospheric air breathers. Periodically they take gulps from the surface.
Diet:	Carnivore. All types, earthworms appreciated
Breeding:	Mouthbrooder. Easy to breed, move male to an empty tank several days after breeding, and wait for him to spit out the fry. Fry will eat bbs from the start. Move male back to main tank after 2-3 days.
Sociability:	Can be temperamental and aggressive to conspecifics. Many can tolerate fish that are not from their family, small schooling fish are possibilities. Avoid all fin-nipping tank mates.
