| Requirements: | Gouramis love floating plants, but are a bit more aggressive with tankmates than their betta cousins. Other upper level swimmers should be avoided. |
| Diet: | Carnivore. New fish can be picky eaters so try frozen bloodworms. They love worms and small insects. Carnivore prepared pellet food is also good. |
| Breeding: | Bubble nest builder, females have rounded dorsal fins, whereas males have pointed ends and much brighter colors. |
| Sociability: | Can be kept in pairs, though female is normally bugged a lot. Should not be kept in groups. |

| Special Info: | It isn't easy to get a female of this fish, as most of the ones in shops are males. The females are the same shape, but a dull tan in color. |
