Anabantoids
Anabantoids mainly hail from South East Asia. Many
are from stagnant pools and blackwater, where it is very advantageous
to have an ability to breath air. A few can even climb onto land
if they feel their current pool is not enough.

Most
are predatory, and will eat flake or other formulated
foods willingly. |
| Breeding: |
Most
are bubblenest builders, caring for the eggs until they
hatch, but not much after. Others are often mouthbrooders.

Parameters: |
Softer water, pH: 6.5-7.5, A few want very acidic water.
|
| Temperament: |
Often
aggressive with their own kind. |

| Origins: |
Asia,
Often from still puddled water. |
| A Few
Exceptions: |
Chocolate Gourami: Likes a very acidic pH, and must be housed
with only its own species. Also has several other very specified
parameters for water quality.
Paradise
Fish: Would rather cool still water over warm water, very
pretty, and fairly easy to breed, though adult males can be
as aggressive as Betta males, and should not be kept together.
