Danios and Minnows
Danios are a very common schooling fish mostly from Southeast Asia. new species are discovered every year, and some especially colorful ones have been found recently. As you can see to the right I haven't kept any of the extremely colorful ones.
These guys are normally considered peaceful to barely semi-aggressive. Their activity level is more likely to stress other fish out that any thing they would actually do to the other fish. They do like some water movement in the tank. After a water change danios may try to swim upstream into the filter. These guys also occassionally jump out of the tank, so keep a good lid on them.
Most are egg scatters and easy to bred in captivity if you have the right conditions. they are also just about all consummate egg eaters so don't expect to find fry unless your tank is very heavily planted.
