Betta Cups

The first encounter people have with a betta is often a very pretty little fish living in a cup smaller than they are long. Now on a short term basis with many water changes this is an adequate home for a betta (short term being a week or less.) Long term, bettas should not be kept in containers this small, esp. by people who are not experienced fish keepers. A small environment is very hard to keep in balance. The temperature and water quality can change very quickly and this will often stress a betta. They can be very susceptible to fungus and ick in these conditions.
