Royal Pleco (Panaque nigrolineata)

Synonyms: Royal Panaque
Stats: Adult Size: 24" in wild (60 cm)
Temp: 72-80 F (22-27 C)
Tank: 48 " (120 cm) minimum
Requirements: Very large fish, grows to at least 12" in captivity. Driftwood is a necessary part of their diet. Tank width must be at least 24" to allow the fish to turn around.
Diet: Algae, veggies, most prepared foods also accepted. Zucchini and Peas accepted.
Breeding: Not often attempted in captivity, as these fish need very large tanks to breed.
Sociability: Not good with other Pleco types that have similar shape or markings. Fine with most other fish, take into account large adult size.

Special Info: Very hardy, but can and will get very large.
