Bolivian Ram (Microgeophagus altispinosa )

Stats: Adult Size: 3 " (8 cm)
Temp: 77-82 F (25-28 C)
Tank: 24" (60 cm) minimum
Requirements: Prefers acidic water, but can be fine in 7.4 or so. Plantings and cover essential.
Diet: Anything. Will take flake, live, frozen, or pellet. Very undemanding.
Breeding: To guarantee a pair several juveniles may need to be purchased, six being a usual number. Fry are easy to raise.
Sociability: Fairly peaceful, like all cichlids more aggressive when breeding. Keep in pairs or alone.

Special Info: Bolivian Rams are much easier to care for than their cousins Butterfly Rams.
