Brevis Shell-dweller (Neolamprologus brevis)

Tank: 24" (60 cm) minimum
Requirements: These cichlids, are shelldwellers, and cavity spawners, so they prefer an open area scattered with empty snail shells, with some rockwork on the edges of the tank. pH:7.5>>, hardness: hard. Sand substrate appreciated.
Diet: Omnivore, feed a good mix of plant and animal foods, not picky.
Breeding: Males: have more defined stripes, and are larger. Snail shells are needed. Males will live in same shell as females of this species.
Sociability: Groups. Other fish from other water areas, such as rockdwellers, or those from open water.
