These Cichlids, are rockdwellers, and cavity spawners, so they prefer an area of rocks with caves to feel secure.

Sexing is almost impossible, so get a group of juveniles, and let them pair off. Remove the ones who do not pair, for they will be driven out by the pair.

The pair will raise several generations of fry at once, take care to not let the tank overcowd though. The eggs are often white.

This is one of the slightly less common Tanginyikan lake fish.
