Many-banded Shell-dweller (Neolamprologus multifasciatus)

Stats:

Adult Size: 2" (4.5 cm)
Temp: 75-79 F (24-26 C)
Tank: 20" ( cm) minimum

Requirements:
These Cichlids, are shelldwellers, and cavity spawners, so they prefer an open area scattered with empty snail shells, with some rockwork on teh edges of the tank. pH:7.5>>, hardness: hard. Sand substrate appreciated.
Diet:
Omnivore, feed a good mix of plant and animal foods, not picky.
Breeding:
Males: fins edged in reddish coloration, larger. These fish can live communally. As long as there are enough shells. They will also allow fry to grow up with them. periodically remove the fry or there will be too much inbreeding, which thes fish are susceptible to.
Sociability:
Groups. Other fish from other water areas, such as rockdwellers, or those from open water.
