Altum Angelfish (Pterophyllum altum)

Stats: Adult Size: 6" (15 cm)
Temp: 75-82 F (24-28 C)
Tank: 32" (80 cm), at least 24 inches tall minimum
Requirements: Plants preferred, with plenty of open space, and subdued lighting. pH: 5.5-6, H: very soft.
Diet: Carnivore mainly. Small live are much appreciated.
Breeding: Male and Female in good pairs will guard and rear their young. A sign of too much tank breeding is them eating their fry. Spawn on vertical surfaces. Very clean water a must.
Sociability: Singly, pairs, or in large groups in large tanks. Medium sized tetras often make good tank mates, small tetras are snacks.
Related Spec: (Pterophyllum scalare) Angelfish
Special Info: This is a less common species of angelfish, and though more delicate than P. scalare, they make up for it in appearance.
