Zebra Danio (Brachydanio rerio )

Synonyms: Zebra Fish
Stats: Adult Size: 2.5" (6.25 cm)
Temp: 73-82 F (C)
Tank: 24" (60 cm) minimum
Requirements: Loves plants. Can be kept in pairs or trios, but groups good too.
Diet: Anything, not picky. Small live or frozen relished.
Breeding: Females plumper, egg-scatterer. Easiest fish to breed, just prevent them from eating the eggs with a Spawning Grid.
Sociability: Keep in groups of at least 6, preferable more. Quite zippy.
Related Spec: The Leopard Danio is a pattern morph of this species, as are the Long-Finned Zebra, Long-Finned Leopard, and the Gold Zebra Danio.

(Brachydanio nigrofasciatus) Spotted Danio
Special Info: Scientists are using this fish in genetic testing due to its ease of breeding, and quick growth rate.
