Reptile Basics

My personal preference is for reptiles that are handleable. I can see the draw of display animals, but I personally like the ability to in an emergency stick my hand in a cage and remove an animal without causing it undue stress, or losing a finger. That said I'm not a fan of snakes with an adult size of over 6 feet, or venomous 'hot" reptiles being kept by just anyone. I also don't agree with difficult to feed or house animals, chameleons come to mind, being easily available to just anyone. At the very least I'd rather stores had to special order them than keep them languishing in grossly inadequate cages for weeks on end.

What this rant meant is I'm only going to be handling either common animals, or easier to handle exotics on these pages. You won't find any chameleon, dart frog, or large python info here. I'm also going to try to keep to animals I have personally kept, so there is limited info here.
