Sinaloan Milk Snake (Lampropeltis triangulum sinaloae)
| Synonyms: | ... |
| Stats: |
Adult Size:
4-6 ft., females longer. Temp: 75 F - 85 F Cage: 36" minimum |
| Requirements: | At least two hides, one on warm side of cage, one on cool. Water bowl they can soak in if needed. Mine seem to like climbing, so driftwood is appreciated. |
| Diet: |
Live or Frozen rodents, size depends on age. Babies can be fed up to twice a week, and adults every 7-10 days depending on food size. |
| Breeding: | From what I understand it isn't particularly difficult and captive bred babies are available regularly. |
| Sociability: | The only one I've handled was very flighty, but supposedly they calm down a little with age. This was the only snake I was actually worried about loosing he was so terrified of being touched, so he was re homed after I had him a few months and he wasn't calming down. |
| Special Info: | Milk snakes have their bright colors because they are mimicking a venomous Coral Snake. That snake lives in the lower US and very rarely even encounters people, but has very bright warning colors. |
